Scope and Content:

This collection consists of 9 colour photographs documenting an open-air Mass held at the Pole Field in Blackpool, Cork.

The Mass, conducted by a missionary priest, was organised to raise awareness of the accommodation issues faced by the Traveller community at this unofficial campsite.

The Pole Field had been used by Travellers as a campsite on and off for many years and is now the site of the Blackpool Shopping Centre.
